About us

A home on the ridge, and a family to share it with

The road to Hitti Dara winds through bamboo, ferns and hydrangeas. At the end of it, our door is open.

We are a local family in Seokbir Khanie, a village east of Kalimpong town across the Relli river. We open our home to travellers who want the real hills, not a hotel lobby: slow mornings, honest food and evenings watching the light fade over the ridges.

Couples, families, friends and solo travellers are all welcome. You eat what we eat, sit where we sit, and we'll point you to the walks, viewpoints and village corners that only locals know.

We are at Seokbir Khanie, Hitti Dara, on Relli Road, east of Kalimpong town across the Relli river, in Kalimpong district, West Bengal. Message us before you travel and we'll send our exact map pin and help book a pickup.

The main railhead for the hills, with trains from Kolkata, Delhi and Guwahati. Cabs wait outside.

By road

Shared jeep or cab

Shared jeeps run from Siliguri to Kalimpong town. From town, the last stretch to our village is by local car.

Ashirbad Homestay is a family-run homestay at Seokbir Khanie, Hitti Dara, Relli Road, Kalimpong, West Bengal, India. In this policy, "we" and "us" mean Ashirbad Homestay.

  • Booking details you send us: name, phone or WhatsApp number, check-in and check-out dates, number of guests, room choice and any notes (for example food preferences).

  • At check-in: a government-issued photo ID, as required for guest registration under Indian law. For foreign guests, passport and visa details are reported to the authorities through Form C, as the law requires.

3. How the website works

        
The booking form on this website does not store your details on any server. It only prepares a message that you choose to send to us on WhatsApp. The chat helper runs in your browser and does not record your questions. The website remembers your theme choice (colours, light or dark mode) in your own browser only.

  • To reply to your enquiry and confirm your booking.
  • To prepare your room and meals and arrange pickups or sightseeing you ask for.
  • To keep the guest records and accounts the law requires.

        
5. Sharing

        
We don't sell, rent or trade your personal information. We share it only when needed: with a driver you've asked us to book, with authorities where the law requires, or with banks and payment apps to receive your payment.

        
6. Other services

        
Messages you send on WhatsApp are handled by WhatsApp (Meta) under its own privacy policy. This site loads fonts from Google Fonts and links to Google Maps and Instagram, which have their own privacy policies.

        
7. How long we keep it

        
We keep booking messages and guest records only as long as needed for your stay and for legal and accounting requirements, and then delete them.

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can ask us to tell you what information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it where the law allows. Just message or call us.
